About Harvest Moon Upholstery

A Lifetime Learning the Trade

Glenn Sheets picked up his first upholstery needle at 18 and never really put it down. His early work was on military contracts — and he’s the first to correct anyone who assumes the obvious: he wasn’t in the military, he worked for it, repairing, recovering, and rebuilding seating to a standard that didn’t leave much room for error. By 25 he had opened his own shop.

When he moved to Edmonton, he did something most tradespeople never do: instead of settling into one shop, he worked on contract across roughly ten of them. Each had its own specialty — antiques, marine work, commercial seating — and Glenn treated every contract as a chance to learn the part of the trade that shop did best.

Years of that added up to an unusually wide range. It’s the reason he can move from a delicate antique chair to a boat cushion or a restaurant booth with the same attention to detail and craftsmanship.

Building something of his own

During the pandemic, Glenn co-founded a local upholstery shop that grew quickly — fast enough that his partner eventually bought out his share. Glenn also spent several years operating a separate furniture refinishing business, giving him additional experience restoring wood furniture alongside upholstery work. Those chapters taught him the business side of the trade as well as the craft: how to quote fairly, how to tell a customer the honest truth about whether a piece is worth saving, and how to stand behind the work when it goes out the door.

Today that experience lives under one roof at Harvest Moon Upholstery, here in Edmonton.

What we do

Every project is different, but the goal is the same: restore comfort, function, and appearance while helping customers get more life from the furniture they already own.

We repair and reupholster furniture for homes and businesses — sofas, chairs, dining chairs, sectionals and beds — and we handle the jobs a lot of shops turn away:

Repairs

frames, springs, legs, recliners, seams and cushions

Reupholstery

recovering pieces in new fabric, with fresh foam and support

Foam & cushion replacement

restoring comfort and shape to tired cushions

Wood touch-up

blending scratches, rings and worn finishes

Specialty upholstery

auto, boat, RV, restaurant, aircraft and bus interiors

As Glenn puts it: if it’s upholstered, he can fix it. We bring the workshop to you — in-home service across Edmonton and the surrounding area.

Honest first.

You’ll get a straight repair-or-replace answer, even when “replace” means we don’t get the job.

Clear quotes.

The fix and the price before any work starts — no surprises.

Made to last.

Proper materials and stitching, so the repair outlives the fix-it-again cycle.

In your home.

We do the work where your furniture lives — no lifting, loading or drop-offs. For a larger job, we’ll plan the best approach with you upfront.

Furniture Repair Process That Delivers Results

Every furniture repair project starts with a conversation. We take the time to understand what is wrong with your furniture, what concerns you have, and what result you want to achieve. Once we inspect the frame, fabric, padding, springs, and overall condition of the piece, we explain the available repair or reupholstery options in clear, simple language. Before any work begins, you’ll receive a straightforward quote and estimated timeline. We believe in honest communication, so there are no hidden fees, confusing recommendations, or surprise charges along the way. During the repair process, we pay close attention to every detail. From reinforcing frames and replacing worn foam to repairing upholstery and restoring comfort, each step is completed with care and precision. We use dependable materials and proven techniques to ensure repairs hold up well under daily use. When the project is complete, your furniture is returned looking cleaner, feeling stronger, and providing the comfort and support it was designed to deliver. Our focus is not just on making furniture look better, but on helping it last longer.
